Abstract
This article discusses the relationship established by the Brazilian Integralists – especially their "Leader" Plínio Salgado – with Getúlio Vargas and the Estado Novo , discussing the Integralist support of the Coup of 1937, the banning of activities of the AIB (Brazilian Integralist Action party), the armed uprisings of 1938, and especially, the repeated attempts at rapprochement with Vargas undertaken by Salgado between 1939 and 1945, interpreted as indicating a subordinate position.Downloads
