This article proposes an analysis of the film À Meia-Noite Levarei Sua Alma (1964) through the lens of Gilles Deleuze, divided into three main topics. First, it introduces the importance of editing in cinema, emphasizing how it transcends the mere reproduction of reality and enables new ways of thinking and feeling. Next, it delves into spiritual editing, inspired by expressionism, which heightens the emotional and psychological atmosphere of horror films, drawing a parallel with the impact of this technique on the prominence of Brazilian horror. Finally, it offers an analysis of À Meia-Noite Levarei Sua Alma (1964), focusing on how editing and expressive elements create a unique and unsettling cinematic experience, aligning with Deleuze's theories on time-image and movement-image.
