Abstract

The 21st century has been marked by the emergence of new forms of colonialism, manifested in the Age of Artificial Intelligence, new social relations, and new global patterns of work and domination. In this context, post and decolonial studies have gained prominence, especially in Latin America, where authors such as Aníbal Quijano and Enrique Dussel, among others, have proposed critiques of Eurocentrism and the coloniality of power as the matrix of colonialist processes. Thus, the proposed dossier intends to explore, through social sciences, new approaches and contributions that can help fill gaps, elucidate problems, and innovate the way we look at the subjects and objects of colonial modernity. The proposal is to stress the sociological/anthropological/political practices and also think about the exits and demands for colonial modernity. Through this lens, the dossier promotes a contribution in a geopolitical sense, as Latin America is the place from and/or to where the produced dialogues, presented studies, and developed approaches by the invited authors will run. Therefore, the dossier seeks to give voice to popular, indigenous, black, feminist, LGBTQIA+ social movements and others, in an attempt to confront the crisis of the neoliberal economic paradigm and the ethical and moral dilemmas that arise in the face of the political, social, and cultural effervescence of the 21st century.
