Introduction: This review aims to examine the extent and nature of studies on the applicability of the Logical Model in health practices related to the elderly population; to identify existing gaps in the literature; and to understand how the Logical Model is used in the field of elderly health research. Method: Searches were conducted in databases and gray literature. Studies with qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method approaches from primary research were included, covering the period from 2012 to 2022. Results: Ten original articles were selected for meeting the eligibility criteria and were included in the descriptive synthesis. The analyzed articles mapped the multiple healthcare demands of the elderly population and highlighted the authors' concern with promoting care focused on the capacity and skills of older adults regarding their health. Conclusion: The use of the Logical Model guides the interventions proposed in health programs and policies for the elderly. Careful listening to the experiences of older adults, caregivers, professionals, and managers regarding health, combined with program modeling, enables the development, implementation, and evaluation of multiple care strategies, potentially increasing the effectiveness of healthcare services.
