Abstract

In this Tribune, the authors discuss the transformations in society and their impact on the construction of health systems and the proven importance of Primary Health Care, approaching the health-disease process in a unique way and articulated to the social context through work in an interprofessional team. The creation of the Family Health Support Centers, recently renamed as Expanded Family Health and Primary Care Centers, is a good example of the imperative importance of this interprofessional approach within the scope of primary care. However, in this dialogue, challenges and weaknesses also emerge. These aspects are raised in the proposed reflection.
