The Health in the Territory Project (HTP) is a tool for developing strategies in the production of health in Primary Health Care (PHC). The objective of this study was to analyze the HTP under the perception of students of the Medicine course at a private Higher Education Institution as an instrument of formative assessment in the curricular component Integration Teaching-Service-Community (ITSC). This is a descriptive and cross-sectional study with a qualitative approach, through the focus group with 38 medical students in 2018. The transcripts were analyzed according to the Content Analysis according to Bardin and the discovery of nuclei of meaning. In the academic's perception, the HTP is in fact a tool that brings teaching and service closer. However, several points are raised to improve its application. This PHC tool is potent to produce health in the territory and shows which paths must be followed to improve ITSC, including strengthening ties.
