The informatization of medicine aims to improve the health system. Several difficulties are encountered in the usability of systems by professionals. In Brazil, very little is known about physician’s perception of the use of electronic medical records. The objective of this research is to identify the level of satisfaction of Family Doctors with the use of Electronic Medical Records. This is a cross-sectional observational study, with the application of a questionnaire to assess the degree of user’s satisfaction of electronic medical records. For analysis, the Data Mining methodology with specific tools was used. High level of satisfaction was related to the ability of the medical record to prevent errors, quick and easy prescription, help to see more patients, facilitate case discussion and perform tasks. Dissatisfaction, on the other hand, was related to bad technical support, lack of clinical decision support tools, being a barrier in doctor-patient relationship and bad alerts. Despite the low level of overall satisfaction, physicians demonstrated that they enjoyed using the electronic medical record. This study is an opportunity to reflect on the most urgent demands in improving these systems for planning future actions.
