Reflections and inflections on COVID-19, social determinants and health promotion in the Brazilian context

The study reflected on social determinants and health promotion in the Brazilian context to deal with Covid-19. It is proposed the health promotion strategies, as a central point, linked to social determinants in all health policies, even when the fight against the coronavirus imposes emergency agendas. The pandemic scenario should not move policy makers, researchers and professionals’ analysis away from the field of health promotion, especially when, in order to respond to transformed contexts, inequalities, social vulnerabilities, preventive actions and control of transmissibility are addressed, as well as, expanding the capacity of health services.
