Implicações da gestão em atenção primária em saúde no enfrentamento da pandemia da COVID-19

Abstract

Introduction: the COVID-19 pandemic represents a worrying public health emergency, requiring strategic actions at different levels of health care. Objective: to report the experience of contingency management in primary health care (PHC) in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: this is an experience report about the strategic actions to confront the new coronavirus in PHC in a city in the state of Ceará, Brazil. Results: actions and measures adopted in the area of PHC management, such as a contingency plan and case monitoring, have contributed to the activities to deal with the pandemic in Brazil, based on coordinated health actions and the professional activities of the health teams. Final considerations: there is a need to reorganize practices in PHC to reduce the inherent risks of contamination and possible changes and needs of the population.
