Scientific producion of the nurses about health educacion

Abstract

SUMMARY: Bibliographic revision with te objectives to know the scientific production on "health education" by nurses, in the context of brazilian public health and analyze the scenarios and approaches studied by the researchers. It was conducted by electronic means, in the period from May to June 2007. They analyzed 12 studies, splited in the following categories: practice of health education (10 articles), health education related to the principle of integrality (1 article), trends in health education (1 article). The analysis shows that the scenarios studied are diverse, including healthcare units, schools and homes. Most studies is the field that raises, among other issues, the lack of preparation of professionals for educational practice. Two of the studies are related to the theoretical approach and the two are subject to revision. The current traditional health education is predominant, but the findings point to the inadequacy of such an approach ahead of the proposed reorientation of health services in Brazil. A dialogical approach, already at the universities, could influence the future conduct of the occupation, towards overcoming the verticality often found in planning educational activities and the enhancement of knowledge and experiences of individuals assisted. As for professionals in office, the continuing education can and should provide space for reflection and technical training.
