Identifying the risks for cervical cancer and adhesion to prevenive examination with the presence of nursing-assistants and technical nurses

This periodic intends to identify the risk factors for cervical cancer and the adhesion to the papanicolaou examination with presence of nursing-assistants and technical nurses of the health service of reference in prevention and threatment of gynecological cancer. Descriptive research made in 2006 with 35 women in Fortaleza (CE) through a semi-structured interview. Results are: 48,57% use oral anticonceptional and 35,29%, for more than five years; 28,57% smoke or did ever smoke and 80%, for more than 10 years; 45,72% started sexual life between the age of 15 and 20; of the 29 women who have active sex life, 55,17% do not use condoms systematically; 85,71% know the examination is important and do it yearly, but they did not know much about what cares to take before the examination. Those women need educative actions in health to warn them about the cervical cancer risk factors.Downloads
