Clinical Practice and the Development of Services Intregal to Health in Primary Care

Abstract

This article analyzes the development of today’s clinical practice in medicine and the organization of health services and practices related to primary care. It considers the clinic as a social exercise and raises questions regarding the possibilities of restructuring and increasing its knowledge base and techniques in areas beyond the limited biomedical model. It Investigates how to expand the clinical focus towards providing a holistic care model and proposes, towards this end, the incorporation of non-biomedical content in clinical care, an appreciation of practical clinical wisdom and an exploration of dialog in the practice of primary care.
