The software for household registration is a component of the work process of the Family Health Strategy. It allows for the recognition of local realities through a situational diagnosis by identifying health needs within the social environment. The study aims to understand the implementation of the family registration process in the software from the perspective of Community Health Agents. It is a qualitative study involving 12 professionals, who were divided into two focus groups. The data were processed using thematic analysis of three categories: work process, family registration in the software, and difficulties and facilitators in the family registration process. The results indicate that the implementation of the registration process is limited due to ineffective training, inadequate technical support, poor synchronization between information systems, lack of infrastructure and technological equipment, absence of healthcare users during professional visits, and violence resulting from drug trafficking and police operations in the area.
