6) Orações relativas apositivas: SNs ‘soltos’ como estratégia de focalização e argumentação

Inglês:  In this paper I investigate the occurrence of detached appositive relative clauses in written Brazilian and European Portuguese from the North American functionalisttheoretical frame of reference. I establish a parallel between the behavior of these clauses and that of floating noun phrases and cleft-sentences. I postulate detachment to be another focusing strategy aiming at a higher degree of argumentativeness, coupled with the textual-discoursive functions of evaluation and of anaphoric ‘retaking’ shown by these structures in various textual genres.

Tradução: Este trabalho investigo, norteada pelo funcionalismo norte-americano, a ocorrência ‘desgarrada’ de orações relativas apositivas no português escrito brasileiro e europeu, estabelecendo um paralelo de seu comportamento com o de SNs ‘soltos’ e com estruturas clivadas, e postulando ser o ‘desgarramento’ mais uma das estratégias de focalização com vistas a uma maior argumentatividade, à qual se aliamas funções textual-discursivas de avaliação e retomada, exibidas por essas estruturas em diferentes gêneros textuais.
