8) A importância do fator intimidade na variação ausência/presença de artigo definido diante de antropônimos

Resumo

Inglês: This work discusses the variation: absence/ presence of the definite article before anthroponyms. Based upon theoretical and methodological purposes of Dialectology and Sociolinguistics, one can confirm the importance of the speaker`s close relationship with the referent in the study of the subject. Afterwards, it is verified that the speaker does not distinguish the familiar ity he/she has with the referent through the type of anthroponym, and that the use of the variants (absence or presence of the article) is an identification sign of the kind of contact existing towards the referred person.

Tradução: Este trabalho trata da variação ausência/presença de artigo definido diante de antropônimos. Com base em pressupostos teórico-metodológicos da Dialetologia e da Sociolingüística Variacionista, confirma-se a importância do fator intimidade do falante com o referente no estudo do tema. Em seguida, verifica-se que o falante não distingue a familiaridade que possui com o referente por meio do tipo de antropônimo empregado e que o uso das variantes (ausência ou presença de artigo) é uma marca de identificação do tipo de contato que se tem com a pessoa referida.
