10) Mudança semântica e expansão categorial no léxico do PB: o caso de um frame ‘animal’

Resumo

Inglês: Semantic changes and category expansion in the Brazilian Portuguese lexicon: the case of an “animal” frame

This article has as object of research using superlative metaphorical frame "animal" (lexical items  ̳ anima l', ̳bicho', ̳fera', ̳monstro' and ̳gigante'). Under the perspective of the Cognitive Linguistics, our main theoretical support are the models of categorization and conceptualization as well as the Conceptual Theory of Metaphor and Metonymy. To describe the conditions of use of these lexical items in the PB, our methodological choice falls on anon a corpus-based research. The results strengthen the hypothesis that the process of semantic and categorial change of the lexical items from frame "animal" implies the projection of this domain-source in a domain-target, the frame of Position in a scale.

Tradução: Este artigo tem como objeto de investigação o uso superlativo metafórico doframe ̳animal‘ (itens lexicais  animal‘, bicho, fera‘, monstro‘ e gigante‘). Sob a perspectiva da Linguística Cognitiva, nosso aporte teórico central são os modelos de categorização e conceptualização e a Teoria Conceptual da Metáfora e da Metonímia. Para descrever as condições de uso destes itens lexicais no PB, nossa escolha metodológica recai sobre uma investigação baseada em corpus. Os resultados obtidos consolidam a hipótese de que o processo de mudança semântica e categorial dos itens lexicais do frame animal‘ implica a projeção deste domínio - fonte em um domínio- alvo, o frame de Posição em uma escala.
