O sufismo na Índia Medieval

O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar o desenvolvimento do sufismo na Índia
com ênfase na interação com as tradições hindus no período medieval, especialmente os
eventos relacionados com o início e a expansão da ordem Chishti no subcontinente
indiano. Ainda que de forma introdutória, a pesquisa se concentrará nos encontros entre
hindus e muçulmanos privilegiando elementos de diálogo intercivilizacional entre as
duas tradições que incluem a mútua influência de seus respectivos textos sagrados, os
dargahs como espaços de encontro inter-religioso e a importância do santo sufi
Moinuddin Chishti (1141-1236 E.C.) venerado por hindus e muçulmanos. A pesquisa
demonstra a representação e especificidade do Islã indiano que é resultado do contato
com as tradições religiosas da região. A metodologia inclui leitura e interpretação de
textos relacionados com a temática acima mencionada.
