O simbolismo mágico-religioso da serpente nas tradições nórdica e finlandesa

Símbolo fortemente polissêmico, a serpente, é encontrada em uma quantidade infindável de tradições espalhadas pelo mundo. A proposta do presente artigo é a de investigar seu simbolismo em duas tradições: a escandinava e a finlandesa. Visto que esses dois povos mantiveram contatos e intercâmbios culturais ao longo de séculos, interessa-nos buscar por semelhanças e diferenças, averiguando se ao menos algumas das características do simbolismo da serpente tiveram ampla circulação nesse ambiente cultural.
