STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES IN HIGHER EDUCATION
Inclusion and Accessibility during Emergency Remote Teaching

This work is an excerpt from the research 'Emergency Remote Teaching: students with disabilities in higher education,' which aimed to understand how the emergency remote teaching model, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, impacted students with disabilities in Brazilian federal universities and how these institutions faced the challenge of accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities in this new context. The objective is to present a summary of the mapping of initiatives carried out by universities, by Brazilian regions, during the pandemic period. Our results show that, despite the barriers imposed by the suspension of in-person academic activities, there were inclusive experiences that expanded educational opportunities for students with disabilities, and that there are still significant challenges to be addressed in ensuring participation and accessibility for this group in higher education.
