Locus: Revista de História offers free and immediate access to its content, following the principle of making scientific knowledge freely available to the public and providing greater worldwide democratization of knowledge.

We invite libraries to list Open Access journals in their electronic journal catalogs.

We encourage research librarians to list this journal among their library's electronic journal holdings. As well, it may be worth noting that this journal's open source publishing system is suitable for libraries to host for their faculty members to use with journals they are involved in editing (see Open Journal Systems).

We also use the LOCKSS system to distribute among participating libraries and allow the creation of permanent journal files for preservation and restoration.
