Resumen

The research seeks to investigate the work of Antônio Gonçalves da Cruz (Cabugá), representative of 1817’s revolutionary government in the United States of America. The Cabugá’s mission wasn’t as unsuccessful as the traditional historiography says, once that managed to make important agreements. His work enable to open new windows to understand the 1817’s movement from the perspective of diplomatic history.
