Religions afro-brazilian: an approach of the possibility in formal education

Resumen
This article results from a qualitative survey of 116 students in 9th grade in the final years of basic education in 2015. Our aim was to investigate how students dialogue with aspects of african-Brazilian culture, especially its bias religious. In addition to the questionnaires the study was guided by a literature review about the importance of religion in preserving Brazilian african culture. The analysis results show that the way the issue has been worked out by the discipline History allows gaps that compromise proposal of the National Curriculum Guidelines in favor of an education for autonomy, citizenship and respect for diversity. The collected data were analyzed in dialogue with the studies on social representations.
