Afrânio Peixoto: the dissension between medicine and literature about the medical knowledge in the early 20th century

Resumen

In this article, our aim is to rescue the questioning made by Alfrânio Peixoto (1876-1947) about the medical knowledge and literary concern about the mental illness and its variations, developed in his preface to “Miss Kate”, a fiction book written in 1909 by Araripe Junior (1848-1911).
