Resumen

This article approaches a particular aspect of the political communication between the Portuguese Crown and the territories under its jurisdiction. It analyzes the representative assembly – the Courts – and its role in the interaction between the territorial authorities and the royal authorities. Wonder about the Chambers Council that took place in the 17th and 18th centuries in different parts of the kingdom, in the Atlantic archipelagos and America. It assesses the role played by prosecutors that the Overseas Chambers sent to Lisbon.
