On the place of the History of Historiography as an autononous discipline

Resumen

The theoretical foundations of history of historiography have rarely been investiga ted. This paper discusses some recent definitions of history of historiography. The contributions and limits of the so called “linguistic turn” to the historiographic field are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the Frank Ankersmit conception of a post-modern history of historiography. From the perspective of Luiz Costa Lima attempt to establish the boundaries between history, fiction and literature we propose the understanding of history of historiography as the research on the conditions of production, continuity and discontinuity of historical true.
