Clavijero and the insertion in Enlightenment

Resumen

This article discuss the Insertion of the Jesuit Francisco Xavier Clavijero - as representative of the Mexican Jesuit Generation of 1750 during its Italian exile that followed its expulsion from Spain and her American colonies in 1767 - in the European Enlightenment. The main idea is to show the proximity between Clavijero's historical conceptions and those of Vico, an important representative of a marginal version of the European Enlightenment.
