Resumen

This article discusses the ways social scientists employ literary works and it includes some of the main criticisms of this practice in order to demonstrate that the challenges to social sciences posed by artistic and literary sources are not that different from the challenges inherent in other research sources, the article explores the concepts of document and representation.
