Europe, the Extreme Right, and Islam

Resumen

In this article the author analyzes the importance that the “Islamic question” acquired in the imagination, and in the practice, of the European Extreme Right. After discussing the validity of the word “Islamophobia”, the author documents, through an extensive analysis of primary and secondary sources, the various ways in which anti-Islamism is redefining the classic ideological universe of the Extreme Right, as well as the consequences for the party system and political culture in general.
