Thirty years later: curupira (jungle legend) ideology

Resumen

This article comes from my doctoral thesis about the specificity of the Integralist discourse in 1930s Brazil, whose social and political context did not hold the threat of the working class such as occurred in Germany and Italy. Th us the discourse of the Integralists is situated in the asymmetrical typical of a colonial and backward society, while also being a misguided and reactionary response to imperialist domination with a native bourgeoisie lacking a vocation of their own.
