Abstract

The aim of this issue of LOCUS was to contribute to research and discussion on the recent history of Latin American foreign policy through the publication of articles reflecting on and analysing the processes of democratisation and elitisation of foreign policy. Priority was given to those contributions that address the history of Latin American foreign policy, including a theoretical-critical underpinning with a regional or transnational focus, and that analyse, discuss and explore in depth the ideational and ideological factors of foreign policy, as well as the praxis between traditional elites, civil society, transnational forces and the influence of other actors and alternative spaces of articulation. This problematisation was answered by four important original and unpublished contributions.
