Abstract
This article intends to discuss the daily-life, the struggle for rights, forms of organization and the achievements of railroad workers employed in the RFFSA between the years of 1957 and 1996, until the present days, at Minas Gerais, Brazil. The workers have to deal with the changes and new challenges of the 21st Century. The theory-methodological referential is based on the references of Political and Social History, mainly British, especially in the work of E.P. Thompson.
