Abstract
This article aims to investigate the socioeconomic profile of the elites in the Sertão da Farinha Podre, current Triângulo Mineiro, Minas Gerais. Therefore, we use as source the minutes of City Hall and the Public Archives of inventories of the city of Uberaba (MG). Such sources have allowed at least clarify the investment options and the composition of the richness of the elite, and the degree of participation of these in the formation of the imperial state.
