Abstract
Between 1820 and 1852, the Rio de la Plata goes through a period characterized by the conformation of republican provincial governments in permanent confrontation, in which death has a significant omnipresence. We consider that the representations of the good death and the afterlife that were rebuilt are crossed by this conflict, even more, that they constitute the process of political legitimacy and identity memory building of the factions in dispute.
