Abstract

This paper considers the interrelationships between testimonial statements and historiographic production from the hypothesis that, under certain epistemic and theoretical criteria the writing of History can assume contours of a testimonial statement. It is our intent to determine such criteria using a fourfold approach: the real under the status of limit situation; the simultaneous temporal activation of memories, expectations for the future and dilemmas of the present; discourse supports that grant meaning and credibility; the ethic-political interpellation as to boundaries and alliances of a testimonial knowledge with public life.
