The small carioca credit in the middle of the 19th century

Abstract

The historiographic problem of this article is the description of the economic relations between supply and demand of small value credit in the city of Rio de Janeiro in the middle of the 19th century. Small credit is understood as an operation that moved explicitly financial resources whose value was lower than the first quartile of business registered in a notary. Quantitative and geoprocessing methods are used to solve the issue.
