Abstract
This article is a reflection on the theoretical and methodological steps used in the analysis of esthetic productions directly related to the radiological accident with Caesium 137 which occurred in Goiânia in 1987. Attempts to show the relevance of the category of sublime for analysis of the novel The Girl Who Ate Caesium (written by Fernando Pinto), the series of paintings entitled 57th Street (made by Siron Franco) and the feature film Caesium 137: The Nightmare of Goiânia (directed by Roberto Pires).
