Abstract

This article discusses how the journalist Carlos Lacerda became one of the main voices at UDN during Brazil’s Democratic Period (1946-1964). We argue that, besides his passionate discourse and striking oratory ability, Lacerda was one of the politicians in the opposition who best knew to benefit from his broad access to many and diverse mass media then existing in Brazil.
