Officers’ of Ordenanças resources and strategies: reflections about their search for authority and command in the “conquests”

Abstract

The article intends to approach some strategies and resources used by the “Corpos de Ordenanças” higher patent officials in one of the most important Minas Gerais districts: Vila Rica during the period 1735-1777, to they were be recognized as a “quality men” and, therefore, command holders.
