Abstract

This art de focuses on the meaning and strength of the mystical spirituality diffusion in the Iberian Peninsula during the 16 and 17e centuries. The attraction towards
subjects of high spirituality is due, partly, to the circulation of piety books and translations made accessible to a larger audience. The propagation of devotio moderna stimulated the movement. German-Dutch spiritual works circulated in the region and many books were published in the Peninsula, propagating mystical ideas from the north or even from Italy, creating new reinterpretations.
