Abstract

Based on theoretical principles of Literary History, the article presents an analysis of some historial themes In Miguel de Cervantes's ficcional work. Starting from the conceptions and the cultural sense of the cavalry novels, the text examines the views on History espoused by Cervantes, who planned his book as if it were an
authentic historical work. Among other subjects, the article explores the relationships between the literary activity and the Intellectual trajectory of the author of Don Quixote.
