Abstract
With a brief analysis of the trajectory of Burkinabé historian Joseph Ki-Zerbo and Angolan writer Uanhenga Xitu, this article accesses the experience of two active individuals in identity processes triggered in Africa during the twentieth century, with the main objective to perform a reading of the memoirist work The Minister, by Uanhenga Xitu, woven from categories and theoretical tools on memory, presented in the historiography of Joseph Ki-Zerbo.
