This article is about the relationship between the Tereza Cristina Railway and the city of Criciúma in the south of Santa Catarina. It is a reflection about the complex and contradictory relationship between the railway and the city, looking for the understanding of the contribution of the railway in the formation of the space and urban life of the city.
