A Brazilian 19th century intellectual and his library

Abstract

This article proposes to analyse a colecction of books which belongs to the Casa da Hera Museum in Vassouras, Rio de Janeiro, and his owner, Joaquim José Teixeira Leite, brazilian political of nineteenth century. In this article the trajectory of UIT is evaluated, identified with an intellectual "avant la lettre".
