Historicism, the rediscovery of history

Abstract

This article deals with confrontation between the two most important historical paradigms that predominated in the Occident during the last two centuries - French Enlightenment and German Historicism. It intends to define the historicism and its "historical reason" against the philosophical reason of the Enlightenment. The author considers German historicism the "re-founder of history".
