Towards an Historical Sociology of Testimonies: preliminary considerations

Abstract

This article deals with the challenges posed by questions and research procedures related to oral history, specifically, the theoretical and methodological issues raised by the utilization of oral documents. We start out with questions regarding the use of “oral testimony” and its implications for procedures and practices related to the acquisition of historical awareness and knowledge.
