Abstract

The article analyzes the motivations that led politically insurgent intellectuals to adhere to the Brazilian Communist Party as a way of furthering their aspirations and interests. It also examines this process from the Party’s perspective, that is, the motivations of the Party in relation to the intellectuals that moved in its orbit.
