Abstract
This article examines the notion of “truth” in order to suggest the conceptual limits of the interplay between specific propositions and objective reality. It discusses the responses of Wittgenstein and Popper to the dilemmas of positivism and suggests the notion of “verisimilitude” as corrective to "falseability”? Global hypotheses regarding the process of knowing the author concludes are more convincing than parochial hypotheses: the author, therefore, consider the socio-political advantage and disadvantages of globalization.
