Agrarian Elites and Modernization in Minas Gerais: notes for reflection

Abstract

The article studies the actions of the elite of Minas Gerais (especially the coffee culture), in one specifie moment in the construction of Brazilian Modernity: the period since the end of the 1920’s until the “Estado Novo”, a period of transition from the agro-exportation order to the urban-industrial order.
