Foreign policy and development in the Estado Novo

Abstract

The article discusses how the foreign policy was used by Estado Novo as a strategic instrument of economic development. It intends to show that the foreign policy was articulated to the Vargas development project. This project that has been sketched in this period was centered in industrialization and in the domestic market, but it didn't exclude the participation of foreign capital in priory projects.
