Abstract
This paper addresses the social circuit of photography in the Amazon region of the nineteenth century, considering photographic images as historical heritage. It presents the basic principles for working with photography as a source and object of history; it identifies the individuals, situations, practices, and products that serve to characterize the uses and functions of photography in nineteenth-century Amazonia.Downloads
